Born
as the son of the architect Erich Elingius , he
studied at the Technical University of Dresden from 1931 to
1934 and continued his studies from 1935 to 1938 at the Technical
University of Stuttgart with Paul Bonatz . After an
internship in the Hamburg Building Department, he served as a soldier in
World War II from 1939 to 1945. In 1946 he joined the architects'
office Schramm & Elingius , which his father ran together with Gottfried
Schramm . After the death of his father in 1948, he continued the
office with Schramm. In 1956 Jost Schramm also appearedand Harald
Peters join the community. After the dissolution of the architectural
association, Elingius continued his work from 1965 to 1970 with Günter
Niggemann and from 1972 to 1978 with Dieter Iseler and Hubert Marady. In
1983 he ended his professional activity. |
