Datuk Karama

The history of the Floating Mosque is dedicated to the 17th-century founder of Islam in Palu, Datuk Karama.

Datuk Karama or Sheikh Abdullah Raqie is a Minangkabau cleric who first spread Islam to Tanah Kaili or Bumi Tadulako , Central Sulawesi in the 17th century. [1] The beginning of the arrival of Sheikh Abdullah Raqie or Datuk Karama in Kaili Land began in Lere Village, Palu Valley (Central Sulawesi) during the time of King Kabonena, Ipue Nyidi ruled in the Palu region . Furthermore, Datuk Karama carried out his Islamic syiar to other areas in the Palu valley inhabited by the Kaili Tribe . These areas include Palu , Donggala, Kulawi, Parigi and Ampana areas .
