VERITAS Design Group
David Mizan Hashim is the President and founding Director of the VERITAS Design Group, which has offices in 6 countries and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
His academic credentials include a Bachelor degree in 1983 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master in Architecture in 1986 from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (GSD), both located in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the USA. Upon graduation, he was awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Travel Fellowship for research in Islamic architecture.
David is a corporate member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects and the Malaysian Institute of Interior Design. He is also an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and the Boston Society of Architects. His past committee positions include Council Member of the Harvard Club of Malaysia, Vice President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Club Malaysia and he has been included in the list of Who's Who in the World. He is a founding and current Council Member of the Malaysia-India Business Council.
David has been very active in the promotion of global trade in services, and has spoken on this subject around the world on behalf of the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
He has also been very active in the promotion of entrepreneurship and was a founding member and ex-President of the Malaysian Chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization and is an ex-President of the Malaysian Chapter of the World Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
David won the prestigious Most Outstanding Malaysian Award from the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1999 in the category of Entrepreneurial Accomplishment, and led VERITAS to receive the 1999 Enterprise-50 Award for best-run medium sized firm by Anderson Consulting. In 2005 and again in 2008, he was among the 5 finalist in the Ernst and Young Malaysian Master Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
David has been Principal-in-Charge of numerous award-winning architecture and interior design projects by VERITAS, in Malaysia and overseas.
David and his projects have been featured widely in local and international media and he has spoken at numerous conferences and forums. He plays an active role in the local and international architectural and entrepreneurship speaking circuit and many of his essays have been published.
